Yes, I see it too and YES it is real. I don’t know for you but I have thought for myself how much cooler can a drum set be? Well, Yamaha are about to give me one.
AH A MAY (Yamaha backwards if it’s not too obvious) is a very interesting design experiment, conducted by the ever creative Yamaha. The project was very simple they swapped their motorcycle crew with the guys that invent the musical instruments. Clever isn’t it? And here is the result! No, it is not a drum kit on wheels! The Raijin is what looks to be a drum kit but definitely not the usual type. This one has the drummer kind off wrapped up inside of it.
With its looks more like of the newest NASA space project, the spherical drum kit Raijin is nothing less than an expansion of the definition of musical expression.
But not forgetting for the other team who also had a very interesting idea. The musical guys, on the other side came up with “Root”, a motorcycle designed especially to provide the rider an experience as closer to the environment surrounding him as possible. This strange design was inspired by a horse with the purpose of giving the human a sense of unity with the machine and all that surrounds them.
