It was a...puffer fish. These little rascals constructed their own elaborate circles, going as far as decorating them with coral fragments, all in an effort to get a female puffer fish to pay attention to them. Eventually, when the couple is formed and the vows are taken, the middle of the "crop circle" becomes the nest. It is as simple as that.
