I don’t know about you guys, but if I know which is the first place to go if I ever visit Beijing. The futuristic “Happy magic water cube” is located in the Beijing National Aquatics Center in China, also known as the Water Cube. This incredible facility was built for the 2008 Summer Olympics alongside with Beijing National Stadium.  After the end of the Olympics, the facility lost some of its charm and purposes. That’s why it was transformed into a giant covered aqua park in 2010.

Even though it’s called Water cube, the building actually has a rectangle box form. But, the Water Cube is also very beautiful on the outside. Chinese decided that the square forms are more symbolic to their culture, just like the famous Bird’s nest stadium. They covered the “Happy magic water cube” with bubbles to symbolize water. Chinese love including symbolism in their iconic buildings. The frame  is made of the steel and the bubbles are made of Ethylene tetrafluoroethylene, which makes it the biggest structure in the world made of this material.

During the Olympics, the building was with a capacity of 17 thousand people, but it was reduced to 7 thousand after the renovation.

The water attractions are made by the North American Company – White Water West. They are responsible for the famous AquaLoop™ and the bright red SilkTek™ Translucent flume and breath-taking drop from its AquaLuanch™.

All these attractions make “Happy magic water cube” the second most visited attraction after The Great Wall in China. It’s also very popular among the local people and it is one of the largest Water Parks in Asia and the biggest Covered one in the world.
