For a very long time I ridiculed the profession of the make-up artists, I mean how can you use the same word to describe Michelangelo and someone who paints the space around people’s eyes. But then one night a friend of mine convinced me to undergo such a procedure and it was devastating. I cannot imagine ever letting someone do that do me again, let alone do it to myself every single day and make it look beautiful and stylish. So yes, they are definitely allowed to be called make-up artists. And if that wasn’t enough of a reason I stumbled upon this young artist. Tal Peleg is without a shadow of a doubt putting the “artist” in “make-up artist”.
This Israeli artist took the name of her profession just a little bit too seriously and now she is literally using her eyes and eyelashes as a canvas to some of the most incredible miniature paintings I have ever seen. Her work is also so diverse, as she seems to draw inspiration from pretty much everything like TV and movies all of the modern and current events, her daily mood that she wakes up in and even fairytales!
For the purpose of creating those mini masterpieces she uses tiny little brushes, lots of eye shadow and eye liner and even some water colors. But here is probably the coolest thing about her amazing work – she does it on herself! Yes, those beautiful deep blue eyes that you can almost drown in belong to her and she is painting all of this standing in front of a mirror and most of the time using only one eye!
