First of all, what is “Handimals”? In a nutshell, that is the art of painting animals on human hands in a very attractive and realistic way.
Meet Guido Daniele. He is an extremely talented Italian artist born in 1950, who specializes in body painting and especially in “Handimals” paintings. After his graduation, he started practicing as a hyper-realistic illustrator in 1972. Until now, he has worked on the advertising campaigns of many big international corporations.
Since 1986, he has been working and improving his skills with the brush. He paints back-stage decors for different movie productions, TV commercials and TV shows.
The whole “Handimals” project started in 2000 when Daniele was hired by an advertising company to do some body paintings. Back then, this was an original idea and Daniele got instantly obsessed by it. He said: “I researched each animal in depth to see how I could transfer it to the hand, and then set about bringing it to life”. The first “Handimals” he created was a cheetah and since then it has been Daniele’s favorite animal.
In most cases, Daniele uses his own son and daughter as hand models for his “Handimals” paintings. He pointed the primarily reason for his decision and said that when you spend so much time holding someone’s hand, it better be the hand of someone you love.
Today, “Handimals” paintings bring Daniele international fame and recognition.
