Graffiti  is the plural of  graffito. Graffiti are drawings or writing created by artists on a wall or other surfaces in a public space. If the graffiti are made without the permission of the owners of the property, they are considered vandalism, which is a punishable crime.

Graffiti gained their popularity within the hip-hop cultures. Different gangs used them to mark their territory or to differentiate themselves from other gangs. Every street artist has his own style and identity. In that sense, you can say that they bring many beautiful colors on the gray cities, drawing their graffiti on walls, trains, office and administrative building, and bridges.

Some of these artists have gained worldwide popularity because of their art. Here is a list of some of the most famous street artists.

T-Kid 170 – Bronx, New York, USA

T-Kid 170 is one of the pioneers. He started in 1977.He learned from Masters Tracy 168 and Padre Dos in the early 1970s and from there, he started growing his own unique style in the 1980s. At present, he continues drawing together with different artists from around the world.

Horfee, France

Horfee has a unique style that looks like early cartoons. His works are truly exceptional, unlike any other graffiti artist. He does not just write a different colorful word but creates a true art on the street of Paris. In the most recent years, he has started doing tattoos and animation.

Kemr

Kemr is famous with his clean style. His graffiti are really colorful and eccentric and at the same time very beautiful. 

Banos

Banos is one of the most famous train graffiti artists in the world. He left his mark on the subway system all over the world. Some of his impressive work can be seen on the London and Amsterdam metro stations.

Doc TC5, Brooklyn, New York

Doc TC5 began his graffiti career in the early ‘80s. He is a master of the mold, learning from his master Dondi. He continues painting on the walls of New York to present days.

Claw money, New York

Claw began creating graffiti in the late ‘80s painting her famous claw symbol all over New York City. Claw used her graffiti talent to launch her own fashion label Claw & Company that became very popular among celebrities such as Kanye West, Nicki Minaj, and Rihanna.

Saber, Los Angeles, USA

The most famous work of Saber is the largest graffiti in the world on the Los Angelis riverbank. This graffiti is 250 x 55 feet and it can be seen from a satellite.

Blade

Blade likes experimenting with different concepts. He specializes in drawing on cars and trains, with a total count of over 5000 pieces. He has been an inspiration for many of the modern graffiti artists and his works reveal his indisputable talent.

Dondi

Dondi is one of the fathers of the graffiti art. He is a pioneer when it comes to modern style and today’s graffiti culture owns a lot of Dondi. He started drawing graffiti in the 1970s and early 1980s. His car series “Children of the Grave” have become part of the graffiti history.

  Banksy, England

Banksy is considered the most famous graffiti artist in the world. He is also a political activist, film director, and painter. Banksy's street art and graffiti are a combination of dark humor and distinctive stenciling technique. He began his career in the early ‘90s as one of the Bristol’s DryBreadz Crew (DBZ). Bansky had his first exhibition in Los Angelis in 2002. In 2015, Banksy published a video titled “Make this year YOU discover a new destination” dedicated to his trip to GAZA.
