After being away from the art scene for five long years, artist Sam Larson decided that he has taken a long enough time off and started making great, innovative art once more. His plan was simple, using the multi-million viewed platform Instagram to post a single drawing of his every single night. After receiving some pretty good critics for his work he decided to do a whole series, a collection of some sorts of paintings for the people to see. But not just any regular paintings, but paintings that are smaller than a penny! The theme he uses is all about the mid-west American landscapes and wild life with the best thing about them - most of them with a very deep hidden meaning inside them. Based in Carlsbad, California but born in Wisconsin, Larson describes perfectly the way forests are overwhelmingly reduced and sometimes misused in his masterfully done drawings. The amount of detail in those tiny paintings is astonishing, considering their size. Even though they are smaller than a penny you can clearly see how much effort he has put into making all those stunning blue rivers, majestic snow covered mountains and giant bright green trees. Sam Larson proved once again that even though he’s been gone for 5 years he definitely still got it!
