Marc Simon Frei just loves playing with Tesla coils and LED-illuminated clouds and he likes to do it in his house, creating some breathtaking light shows and some really cool storm clouds. The great thing is that he doesn’t keep them for himself he photographs them and shares them with the world.
Who knew Tesla coils are so easy to construct, you can get all the components from your local electronics store. These dazzling things, producing high-frequency alternating currents, most famous for manifesting bolt-like lightning sparks.
Mr. Frei’s exciting photos are not quite as big as some previous experiments of his but are magically captivating to see how beautiful and simple this harnessed energy is. He also uses wool to recreate tiny storm clouds and then illuminates them with colored LED lights and tiny lightning bolts and of course capturing the result in these exceptional photographs. Captivating and innovative he definitely found a way to express and share the true beauty of science.
