It is amazing how much time you can waste just staring at James R. Eads’ incredible illustrations. His rendition of harmony and human connection and nature is so mesmerizing that can take to another place and time just gazing into them. Although they have a dark, spacy background, Eads’ illustrations are a breathtaking explosion of color. All of the figures are transparent and seemingly chaotic but everything comes beautifully together in a pattern. Each one is like a small universe with its own life an incredible story to tell.
The L.A. based author is clearly drawing his stylistic inspiration from the genius Van Gogh. From the twisted skies and confident color mixing, through magical villages at night and all kinds of surreal and magical beings, Eads’ work is truly awe-inspiring is a must see.
