Making art out of his Instagram profile showing some remarkable skills. - 8 years ago by

Everyone could be a photographer on Instagram that of course is the whole point of the infamous social platform. But making art out of the Instagram format – now that is an effort deserving all kinds of admirations. The Singapore based artist Ng Weijiang is using the art stimulating platform grid to make some incredibly creative and innovative collages.  The young Singaporean artist takes black and white photos of some absolutely unrelated (at first sight) objects and rearranges them in his Instagram feed making their “three in a row” view into a masterfully done amazing collages with a lot of the times some deep and thoughtful meaning.

Making a bunch of buildings look like he’s got an afro haircut, a man that has a light bulb for a head and a fish tail are just a few examples of the crazy imagination that Weijiang has. And here some of you will probably say – big deal I can do that too! But that’s not all, not only he has the imagination and creativity to assemble pictures into a collage, but he also shows unbelievable accuracy when it comes to calculating negative space, as his compositions are arranged perfectly in order to achieve an absolute balance between black and white.

One thing is for sure, while we are using Instagram to share the giant piece of chips we just found while watching a movie, Ng Weijiang has taken Instagram and its whole meaning to another level altogether.
