Incredible Places Untouched By Humans

When the last tree is cut down, the last fish eaten, and the last stream poisoned, you will realize that you cannot eat money. - 8 years ago by

Sad as it may seem, we live in a society that takes the natural resources for granted. Little attention is paid to the environmental issues and despite the efforts of different eco organizations, the majority of the population is still reluctant to do their part of preserving the nature although they perfectly understand the statement mentioned at the beginning of the article.

Have you ever wondered how your favourite vacation spot would look without the human interference? It would be a pristine piece of paradise where you can take a well-deserved break, right? Yet, there are several places on Earth that have not been affected by human activities. Check these breathtaking destinations below.

Namibia

The name of the country derives from the Namib Desert. Namibia is not a densely populated country and it can take pride in being widely unexplored. Its pristine waterfalls, flora and fauna are untouched by humans.

Papua New Guinea

Papua New Guinea is a place where the landscape and the jungle are yet to be explored. There are some plants and animal species that are unknown to humans.

The Seychelles

The Seychelles are known as an appealing tourist destination popular among well-off people. The majority of beautiful islands have incredibly clean beaches, visited by few people. Just like in Papua New Guinea, there are unknown animals living in the Seychelles.

Daintree National Park

Daintree National Park in Far North Queensland is among the oldest ecosystems on Earth. The rainforest, which is somewhere 110 million years old, is still unexplored.

New Zealand

The Fiordland region, located in the west part of New Zealand, is one of the least explored places on Earth. Humans have never lived there. The only sign of human activities was registered when the native Maori people visited the area for hunting. There is no other place where the air is so clean. Basically, there is not any air polluting substances in the region.

Antarctica

It would be unacceptable to skip Antarctica – the continent that has resisted humanity cravings for a destruction of all pristine places on the planet. Antarctica is home to penguins, seals, seabirds, etc, but the freezing temperatures make it an inappropriate place for people and animals used to living in milder climates.

Tristan da Cunha

Do you know which are the most inaccessible islands on Earth? Tristan da Cunha is an island archipelago in South Africa where seals and birds live. The beaches are mind-blowing and the climate is not too harsh. The reason why the region is not inhabited is the danger of oceanic storms that are so severe that they can destruct every building in the blink of an eye.

Gangkhar Puensum

Gangkhar Puensum, which translated into English means “three mountain siblings”, are known as the mountains that have not been climbed by a human yet. They are located on the border of Bhutan, China and Tibet and as you have already presumed, they are vacant of people. Actually, the mountains are so difficult to access that they recently got a decent mapping. Apart from the difficult terrain, the mountains have not been climbed due to political, social and most of all, religious reasons.

The Galapagos

Think twice before you go on a trip to the Galapagos. The latter is an Ecuadorian archipelago untouched by a human. A lot of efforts are made towards preserving Galapagos’ wildlife.

The Amazon Rainforest

You can hardly find a person who has not heard about the majestic Amazon rainforest, but few are those who have visited it. The Amazon Rainforest is located in South America and although it is widely unexplored, the growing demands of the timber industry endanger the rainforest resources.

Mariana’s Trench

The deep oceans are not fully explored yet and it will probably take centuries before the mankind reveals all their secrets. The deepest part of the ocean is Mariana’s Trench and despite scientists’ efforts, a small part of it has been explored.

Northern part of Canada

The Northern region of Canada is scarcely populated. As for the people who have chosen to live there, they lead an ancient way of life. In order to ensure food supplies, they go hunting or fishing. There is no store where everything for your daily life is neatly packed and exposed on a shelf. The Northern part of Canada is also home to some of the rarest animal species on Earth.
