They are evergreen trees found in the Socotra archipelago, Indian Ocean. There are a couple of things, which make these particular trees special. First is their unusual form. They look like an umbrella, pointing upwards, or a mushroom, because all of their barks point upwards at an angle. But the real treat you can get out of these trees is their resin. It is harvested by wounding the bark. The tree then starts bleeding red, a dragon blood so to speak. It is widely used in medicine and as dyes. Even the ancient civilizations of Greece and Rome knew and respected its properties.
