Here are some amazing photographs from China’s mountains, rivers and rice terraces from the very talented French photographer Thierry Bornier. He work is extremely precise, he always finds the highest point he can climb up to and patiently awaits for the perfect conditions before he takes the shot. His photos are not only full with amazing colors and atmosphere but there is also a story he wants to tell us captured inside the image.

The most incredible thing after seeing his mesmerizing photos is to learn that he is absolutely self-thought. Most of his career he spent in New York, working for a fashion company, but not as a photographer. He was sent to China 8 years ago and fell in love with their culture and their nature and people. Then in 2010 a photo of his was chosen to be “Picture of The Day” in National Geographic and he decided to quit his job and follow his heart to become a photographer.

This is what the Ynnan-based Bornier had to say when asked about his work: “I always felt that I wanted to do something more creative and artistic than finance and accounting, so I made up my mind, bought a new camera, and started to shoot anything in order to understand the concept of photography. Step by step, I improved my skills."
