  1. The very first season's budget was only 20,000 $, including special effects and the actors' wages.

  2. Originally, the series had different title. It was called Unnatural. Later on producers decide to change it to Supernatural.

  3. Instead of having let the series debut on TV, the WB made the pilot episode available for online streaming only a week before its premiere date.

  4. Creator and executive producer Eric Kripke planned the show to last no more than five seasons.

  15. Dean was named after his maternal grandmother Deanna Campbell. She was a supernatural hunter and mother of Mary Winchester. Likewise, his brother Sam was named after his grandfather Samuel Campbell, married to Deanna. It remains unknown to the public how Deanne become a hunter.

     

  16. Can you remember the song playing during the scene when the Reaper murdered the young jogger? It's “Don’t Fear the Reaper” performed by the Long Island rock band Blue Oyster Cult. This classic song released in 1976 is reckoned the band's biggest hit, and still, decades later, it has lost none of its power.
