Taking a first look at these next images most of the people will say: “Hey, those are some pretty good takes on macro photography”. But taking a second, closer look you realize in absolute shock that these are arguably the most realistic drawings that you have ever seen. In this series of incredible photo-realism that would impress even a name like Chuck Close, the author Romulo Celdran has managed to amaze all of us with his astonishing work. These ultra-realistic illustrations are called “Zoom” and have drawn inspiration from just some normal everyday objects with the likes of clothespins, matches, pencil shavers and even syringes.

Maybe the most impressive of all is the brutal simplicity of the drawing of a heap of white trash bags. Most of the people will say something like: ”It’s just trash, come on!” but not for Celdran. He manages to find texture and a gorgeous shadow line that is apparently invisible to the eye of the normal person. Extremely intriguing is his light bulb drawing that has an incredible amount of detail inside. It certainly makes you look twice and even then I personally wasn’t sure that it is not a photograph. Celdran’s talents, his incredible eye for detail and his obscure imagination are beyond a shadow of a doubt and are sure a thing that deserves a lot of attention. If you enjoy Romulo’s work with this macro collection, you should also check out some his other work, which includes a daring large-scale sculpture series that should not be overlooked. Now here are some more of his outstandingly detailed macro drawings.
