Whether you have a boss who rubs you up the wrong way, or nasty co-workers, who tend to get too loud when one tries to focus to do their work properly, there are times when the idea of spending another day at the office makes you miserable and even depressed. Don’t worry, you are not alone. Fewer are the lucky ones that actually enjoy going to work, except in the case when you are the top dog running the company. Most people have to work because they need the money.

However, there is time when the workplace seems utterly repulsive. What is more, due to the bad economy blues now may not be the best time to quit the job that pays the bills. Therefore, before you find a better place to work, allow us to introduce you several steps how to pull yourself together and cope with the annoying co-workers and the manager whose incompetence and lapse of judgement is driving you crazy for quite some time.

Keep telling yourself this job is only temporary

It is not a bad thing to change your job every now and then, if it seems the right thing to do. Today no one makes only one career for a lifetime. In fact, it has become common practice people to change their jobs every 4-5 years. This happens because people choose to grow professionally and mentally and, sure, they cannot do it when stuck in a tedious work. When you are not progressing either mentally or professionally, this can truly drive you mad. Therefore, it is not worth considering your current job is forever. Like it or not, nothing lasts forever. And when you are far from satisfied with your job, it shouldn’t be hard  to establish a patience mindset to stay calm a year or two here. The experience you gain on the current job will help you build a good resume. Eventually, you will make a go of something you are good at. It is only a matter of time, so be patient.

Get yourself a hobby

When you feel like your work doesn't give you the same excitement like it did before, but you cannot afford to quit right now, how about consindering getting a hobby - something to bring you joy and relieve stress after you get back home. Whether you dislike your job or not, always make time for yourself. Pick a pleasant activity. It would be perfect if you turn that activity into a morning ritual. It will give you a nice reason to wake up and start the day. It will also help you foster a positive outlook on your duties. It is not easy coping with a job you hate but getting a hobby can really help, at least it will wind down negative emotions like stress, depression or anxiety.  Besides, a hobby will help you focus on your life out of the office.

Never lose your sense of humor

Humor and sarcasm, and everything that can gives you a laugh, is something you should never lose. Did you know that there are a number of scientists who strongly believe that humor strengthens the ability to deal with stress-provoking situations. Sometimes humor and sarcasm make you see things from a different ankle and find a solution to the problem. Good way to keep up the humor in your life is watching more sitcoms rather than drama films. Try to stay optimistic as much as you can. Don't surrender to negativity, be game!

At last but not least

Fix your attitude. Things may look bad but they always can go worse. There are millions of people unemployed. Can you imagine how they feel? Even if you can't stand your job now, sooner or later things will change for good. You just have to wait for the right opportunity and grab it when it comes.

Until then...

Try seeing things from the bright side (yes, there is one). There must be something good about your job like  enjoying nice little talks with your co-workers over lunch. There must at least one person at work who is your friend. Focus on that – friendships always help deal with unpleasant circumstances.
